The GLBHLi is tailored for individuals seeking to cultivate skills and relationships essential for effective leadership. It offers a comprehensive program that readies and empowers future visionary leaders, fostering positive impacts on both their personal lives and the communities they serve.
Emphasizing personal development, cultural awareness, leadership growth, and community engagement, the program facilitates a transformative journey. Participants gain valuable skills and actively contribute to community welfare through volunteering activities integrated into the curriculum. This hands-on experience enhances their leadership capabilities.
Moreover, the program enables participants to form a network of professional colleagues and regional relationships. It is a crucial support system as individuals progress in their careers and pursue life goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Individuals, ages 21 to 55, male or female, who reside in and plan to stay in Michigan. We are accepting registrations for this Cohort.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED minimum. You do not have to be in college or a college graduate.
- Must be willing to learn and be introduced to local community organizations and businesses.
- Individuals who have exemplified leadership qualities in their personal or professional environment and who are looking to expand their leadership skills. Also, individuals who would be under the radar for traditional leadership programs.
- Must be able to attend the year-long program, (April to December of each year) with classes/training according to the schedule. (See Schedule/Agenda).
Cost
An initial application fee of $25 is required from all individuals who are accepted into the program due by the deadline listed in the application. Payment may be made by check or by Paypal. The full program cost is supported by our sponsors and three major fund-raisers throughout the year.
Mandatory Meeting & Events Required:
- Participants must attend all classes ONLINE and meeting dates. Failure to do so will be grounds for termination from the program. Meeting Dates are as scheduled on the agenda included with the application.
- Participants must complete the required hours of Community Service prior to graduation from the program. Qualified hours are restricted and must be approved before completing volunteer hours.
- Participants must submit, by the deadline, a $25 registration & $35 polo shirt fee, and instead of the full registration fee: participants must sell a minimum of 30 tickets for Loon’s fundraiser, graduation fund-raiser, and various other events, or you have the option of paying the equivalent upfront.
- Participants must attend all required classes listed on the agenda.
